Note I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest reviewReviewPlotStoryIn this book there are three very short stories It had a hint of the style I liked in Brook s first book but other than that these short stories didn t click well with me and if I could I would give it 1 star I am truly sorryCr me Br l eThe first story was too tacky and predictableTo the Last BiteThe second story had a hint of surprise in it and just because of it I think it was better than the restShashlyk and MorezhenoeThe third story was my least favorite of all three even with the return of the Fox from the first bookCover ArtIs very plain and didn t match the stories inside the book at all but I would say that the cover over Goodreads is beautiful and fits nicely with the vibes of this bookBlurbI like the blurb as it was vague enough and has a nice hint of what to come in the bookOther StuffOpening Line So what do you have for me Moniue Beauvais said to Curtis White speaking with a French Canadian accentHighlights I liked the somewhat surprise in the second story I thought of something similar but not uiteLowlights I thought the short stories were too tacky and I didn t like the writing style here at allFinal Thoughts If you read the first book of Brooks I would say skip this one as it has no importance to the first book s plot Even though I didn t like much these short stories I am still looking forward reading his third book in this seriesRead the original review at The Reading Bud

Unsavory Delicacies Ridley Fox Nita Parris #2 review ¾ 109 Rogues Russians RevengeThe Ingredients of a Three Course Meal Crème Brûlée Rogue operative Moniue Beauvais cons a software genius into selling her a coveted technology that would allow its user to control CIA drones while they're in flight And she wi. Good Book Alert Review fun short stories full of twists There s a mix of ironic humor in these stories too They really are unsavory delicaciesThese stories are about 3 4K words each so I found it hard to comment too much without giving away anythingCreame Brulee Moniue Beauvais is the cool sexy spy woman with the French accent Curtis White is the awkward pasty American Which one is in trouble Thriller fans will enjoy this one I know I didTo the Last Bite A paunchy food critiue hopes to write another scathing review of a restaurant In this one I thought I had predicted everything that was going to happen but I was glad to find out the author had another surprise for meShashlyk and Morozhenoe One of the operatives in the first story comes back for this one He s a likable talented character It s well written and interesting but not as strong as the first two because it didn t have those clever twists I found the foreign character names in it hard to keep track and I had to check back and forth to make sure I knew who was who I looked up the meaning of the title Shashlyk is Russian for shish kabab and Morozhenoe is Russian for ice cream which fits in with the food theme of these short stories It s a clever title however most people aren t going to take the time to research them so it s not a very hookish title Regardless I still enjoyed this story There are so many nice touches the author put into these stories Each one starts out set in a restaurant and I found it brilliant how that fits in well with the title of this collection The first two stories are written in the viewpoint of the characters who are reaping the results of their evil ways and it works well I think this is what made the first two stronger stories Over all the first two were excellent The last one was good too but it had a lot to measure up to after the first twoRussel Brooks also has an actionthriller novel out called Pandora s Succession where you can find one of the characters from the above stories After reading his short stories I m very curious about his novel

Unsavory Delicacies Ridley Fox Nita Parris #2 review ¾ 109 Ssia's most powerful crime families He discovers secrets but not one that he was expecting to findThree stories with three conseuences All containing three Unsavory DelicaciesCaution Readers are strongly advised NOT to eat while reading To The Last Bite. When I was asked by Russell Brooks to review Unsavory Delicacies before it is even released of course I said yes I haven t read his first book Pandora s Succession yet but you can believe I will after reading this bookThis is a book that consists of three short stories The first is Creme Brulee Moniue Beauvais meets up with Curtis White at a gourmet restaurant in Old Montreal He was supposed to bring her something in exchange for money He seemed like a nerdy guy She thinks things are going just as planned Things don t seem to be uite right and I was surprised by the endingThe second story is To The Last Bite Dennis Kirby was at a french restaurant where he was supposed to eat and do a review The owner of the restaurant looked familiar but he just couldn t place him at first He had a visitor at his house who brought him a special meal I couldn t believe what the meal was and what happened at the endThe last story is Shashlyk and Morozhenoe which has a lot of action and a surprises tooEven though this was a short book I really enjoyed it Sometimes in short stories you just can t get into what is going on but that was not the case here The first two short stories were my favorites There was suspense humor and umwell you just have to read the book to see what else I recommend this book
